It was the "God Bless them" at the end of his post that caught my attention. I don't know if he meant that as, like they say in the south, "bless their hearts," a slam, or as a genuine gesture of good wishes. I could have worded it better.

So yes, my reading comprehension was lacking, awaiting clarification from Karnak. And he can answer for himself.

And I can answer for myself, so don't put words in my mouth. I'm happy to argue the merits of his post once I know what he meant.

I asked him a simple question and he's yet to answer, but you knew that too.

Slight thread drift, how is per diem calculated while doing the AE training in Virginia Ave? Not based in Atlanta. Kinda hoping it's 2.45 X 24 hrs for the 4ish weeks.

That should be correct. When I was there for training I got a Lyft to the closest grocery store for supplies, like snacks, beer and some breakfast items. My room at the North hotel had a fridge, and I believe you can request one for free if it doesn't have one.

Ive just been looking into this. Which store did you go to and how sketchy was it? Doesn't the HI north also provide microwaves? TIA

Also Amazon will deliver groceries to the hotel with a 2 hr delivery window, but i have not tried it yet.

There is a Walmart about 2 miles north of VA ave. $5 Uber ride away.

Instacart will deliver from Publix. Get a tendies sub and all your groceries delivered instead. Works great.

It was a Kroger about 3 miles N of that hotel. Sketchy... well.. it wasn't bad but maybe at night it could be. My room for the month of training was a larger suite that had been renovated. It had a "kitchenette" with a fridge, microwave, sink and a small table. Every other time I've stayed there for CQ or bounces it's been a regular room.

How long ago was that? I called the hotel about getting one of those rooms and was told "no can do". Maybe there is a chance. Ill keep asking. It sure would make a month down there more tollerable.

There is a crew lounge on the 4th floor with the above items and a fridge.

Two years ago. I'm sure there is a limited number of rooms, so it probably depends on how full the hotel is of people going through a long program, and how many rooms they keep back to sell.

I don't understand why people get so focused on what they got back in a refund, or how much they had a check to write out.

And the way our tax code works, the more you're going to find yourself in a higher bracket.
