If too many guys select the Max Credit option, the system will just "not honor" the request, as it routinely does now.

I'm glad now, but would be happy if I knew the company couldn't build my line into the 80.
What's the ratio of pilots who get rolling thunder to those who don't?
What's the ratio of pilots who are working 15+/month to those who would rather be closer to 12-14?
I would contend that when we have pilots working 15+ days/month, our system is broke.
Imagine if GS weren't a thing or very minimal We could all probably move up to the next seat in pay and wouldn't need premium trips. You're right, we are our own worst enemies.

I maybe fly two GS a year. Last month I didn't even get 70, and I was happy about that. I don't have the time or desire to fly 85-90 hour months other than very rarely.
But I don't get the pseudo communist busybody mindset that many espouse (at least online) where you think you have the right to tell someone else how they should approach their schedule, all in this pretend concern about "creating jobs" and all.
We should have even better work rules for our trips as we fly them (better DH language, better reroute, higher ADG possibly). But so long as the company doesn't force more flying, if another dude wants to fly more I don't care. Heck that makes it easier for me to drop trips!

[QUOTE=Herkflyr;2797395]I'll ask the same question I have before...and never gotten a good answer. If guys flying more is "bad" then why not lower the ALV to 50 hours? Why not 20? Hey we'll all be three year 350 captains!
The reason is simple. Management would never agree to it.

When you see some categories LCW into the 90’s in May, can only imagine a really fun summer of work work work. There needs to at least be some penalty to the company for not properly staffing categories. Running continuously as lean as possible, with generally longer rotations, and brutal summers with no vacation available kills QOL for many. I rarely see GS’s anymore on ER as they tend to be of a “same day someone called out” kind of trip. Any decent trip in open time is gone within hours now, might as well get paid for flying the OT.

Thanks for the entertainment. I hear quite a bit about businesses and real estate investments in flight deck retirement discussions. Let's get the company fully funding up to IRS limits, so we can take more of our money and do things outside of the plan

This is one of those issues that sounds great to commuters etc, but will also have side effects that a segment of the group will not like.

It may or not be depending on how it is structured. I severely doubt that for example, time picked up off the swap board would count etc.

Exactly. A lot of the open trips would still be last minute or on weekends/holidays. Which doesn't benefit commuters or junior people. All this does is help the company as senior pilots will eat up all the open time for the month ahead of time.
The greenslip system is the most fair and beneficial to us. Why are we even wasting time on this?!
