That kind of defeats the purpose if you're trying to get a GS...

Well there are no guarantees in life. Arming pcs for premium is no different.

If you dont want oh dark 30 calls for a 'maybe' award than put such a qualifier on restricting call times on the pcs request.....or simply silence ur fone.

Or just remove your fone from the contact menu.

Im certain with the old system the schedulers likely had similar frustrations with multiple odd hour calls to pilots who didnt answer or once answered didnt accept assignment.

Fwiw....i think with conflict you will still get a human call.

It should call one person at a time during the night.

There were a bunch of small changes like that from TA1 to TA2. I considered them worthwhile changes to keep the PS and keep it pensionable. Adding the 4th year to the contract being the biggest concession.

1 for 1, with details properly populated for the trip is significantly faster than old school. I don't need to ignore a call, log into icrew, look up the trip, etc. It could also run automated, so as soon as I decline the next victim could instantly be contacted. Going one at a time in this time frame would also negate the need to have the 15 minute initial window followed by another 10 minute window, and actually be faster than existing methodology in many instances. Clearly it would still require less scheduling manpower than pre-ARCOS.

If the company wants to speed this up, they can make numerous changes to help themselves and provide win/win. We needn't be the only ones to bear the negatives of reducing response time. And yes, I know we share in some good aspects of ARCOS implementation.

Give me a snooze function to easily and temporarily turn off any or all GS (e.g., I crack a beer and snooze all for 10-12 hours). Give me more granularity in the variables I can put in for GS (e.g. all pbs options) so I don't gum up the system with slips triggering contact that wastes everyone's time. Let slips remain active month to month or next expire if I don't want them to.

Sailing, an honest question... do you ever tire of continually reducing expectations for improved quality of life? Do you not have enough years left to concern yourself with where the degradation trend of QOL plots out several contracts from now? ARCOS has many benefits we can appreciate, but there is significant room for improvement. I challenge you to be on the side of Delta pilots if you'd be willing to put on that hat for a bit. I don't even ask you to take off your black hat... just join us!!!

My quality of life and the quality of life of all the pilots I know is vastly improved from post bankruptcy and some sections of the contract such as reserve are light years ahead of when I was hired over 30 years ago. The forum here seems to perpetuate that we are going backward. We are not. There has been a constant stream of improvements. The question becomes how little should the average pilot fly at Delta. It’s basically back to pre chapter 11 levels now. At what point does it start to handicap the ability of the company to grow.
Remember when it seemed like every post was about the great deal at SWA and all their growth. Nobody however wanted to discuss how SWA could grow into any market they wanted. The answer was simple. They had a large cost advantage. They built the bulk of their growth on 120 an hour Captains and flying to FAR’s. When they lost a big chunk of that advantage due to cost cutting at other airlines, their costs soaring and FAR 117 what has happened to their growth? As they regain that cost advantage the last couple of years what is their growth trajectory been?
I want a great contract but when I see guys like NotEnuf post how they work 7 days a month average and go 45 days at a time without working at all and in other threads complain to high heaven about the terrible contract forgive me if I am a bit of a non believer. When I see 3 year Captains like MikeF16/Hans Solo making 300k and posting like it’s the worst job they ever had I get skeptical. I recently flew a trip where one of the copilots showed up late screaming about being assigned the trip and how the reserve process sucked. He then stated he needed a leg because he had not flown in the last 60 days!
I want to be compensated well and be treated well by the company. I do however expect to actually work for that compensation. I am greatful every day for this job. It has done amazing things for my family. If 12 years ago you had told me where we would be today I would have laughed in your face. If I had posted on the forum back then where we would have ended up today there would have been hundreds of post saying not a chance in hell.
I guess I find life happier if I embrace the good rather then obsess on every perceived injustice.
If we as pilots at Delta really wanted to go after a injustice we would dedicate 75% of the value of this contract to trying to restore some benefits to pilots who truly got hammered on in the chapter 11 process. The pilots still here today have made a amazing recovery. Many past pilots are not as lucky.

Had this similar issue last month…P1$$’d me off royally. I called the union three times about this, and found out ‘yes’ at those times the schedulers were getting trigger-happy with the system. You need to call the union, also if you can screenshot the availability queue when they call you out, that would be useful.

Warts and all.....my general attitude is of generally having won the job lotto.

I have friends from my ute that are working dam near minimum wage to pay the bills. Funny thing is most are generally not complaining.

I hope pilots are using these great times to prepare for the bad times that may come.

Question: Recently (around the past 2 weeks) my ARCOS will not call me. I only get the ARCOS app notification. I've checked the settings and my phone number is there, same as its always been. I've dug around in my phone to see if I inadvertently blocked the number and it doesn't seem so. Anyone else encounter this? Any suggestions? Thanks.
