I choose not to participate and enjoy the summer. However I’m very intrigued at the amount of GS going out. Let’s here some good Rolling Thunder, GSWC, there I was stories.

NYC A320B has at least one OOB GSWC awarded. ATL pilot that got a three day GS which conflicted with the following 5-day trip. Well done LV. My GS hero.

A few buddies chose to participate and got to enjoy their summer even more as a result...the two are not mutually exclusive. Two ended up at GS#4 and worked less than a normal line for the month. I think I saw an IAWC...had to click on the help menu to look up some of the codes I'd never seen.

I dropped a 3 day trip beginning of the month, picked up a 3 day green slip over the same days, then had commuting problems (2 gate returns on a company flight) which resulted in me getting rerouted before my first leg (a contractual no-no). The result was triple pay or a 54 hour 3-day.

The next month I put in a GS request and checked the box to award on duty. Landed to have an arcos email offering me 3 different trips. Saw all 3 went junior to me so called scheduling. They apologized and added 10:30 to my time card. I then was able to still GS which I didn't do until the following weekend.

Those were my two feel-good summer stories this year. I know there's thousands of them out there.

I had a 3 day Europe greenslip. Got food poisoned on the rotation. Half at straight sick time pay.


Dammit.

Why??? "What's with all the greed here? It's unattractive". Really

My phone rang exactly once this summer. Dusted off the ARCOS app and comically tried to re-figure out how to use it, reset my login etc, all while watching the timer count down. Ended up getting all set just before the 10 minutes wound down, only to see it go to a guy 6000 numbers senior to me :D

I got a rock. ;). On the other hand I did swing 30+ days off in a row, July-August. It’s good to have options.:)
