Agism.

Favored towards old farts that should just retire because they’ve had their time. Also favoring entitled millennials that lucked into the job too early to be fully qualified because they’ve never been furloughed.

I guess it’s weighted against those in between that are currently suffering through a midlife crisis driven decision between a “sports car” and a sports car.

No. However, some people feel threatened by change and would prefer to burn witches at the stake. Which is ironically CO2 neutral.
