That would decimate our WB fleets. We would lose over half of our 777/350/330 Captains and a good share of the FOs. There is no way we could fly all of the...... Whoa, wait that fits perfectly.

I, of course, won't be 62 until Oct......

But thinking about the AA/APA deal.......at first it sounds very intriguing but is it worth it? When you think about it......what happens if/when a bankruptcy is declared??? Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

Exactly, at face value it seems risky. But I guess the devil is in the details. Buyer beware!

I would never expect the senior guys to take an early out. I'd be very wary of such a deal. Cash in the barrelhead!

Or an annuity.

10 year annuity for 500k per pilot is coming your way
no 16 percent match just the annuity for those over 62 to 72 where MRD distributions become mandatory with the new law

if you are already within 12-24 months of retirement or maybe are retired mil/ had a 2nd source of income I'd consider it. seems like as quick as they could yank that would be a year. history seems to show BK moves kinda slow

I can't imagine trying to retire into this right now. How are those IRAs looking?

We, as a society, have never retired a generation of people off of IRAs/investments/etc. This is still a great experiment, no matter how much we talk about the certainty of it.
