Sailing what you reference was a screw up by AA. They apologized for that. That only affected the 737 and A320 fleet.

No offense at all! You're definitely a better source than I am. I just feel like I'd be worried what would happen to my payout in a bankruptcy.

Also, they are offering paid leaves to all employees. I do not know the exact numbers for each employee group, but they are offering paid leaves to all now is my understanding.

I think Mgmt is still waiting for us to fold and give them the concessions they seek..It has always worked in the past until the last contract..Hopefully Mgmt will change course and offer similar options to what American has done.

Keep in mind they cancelled almost all the narrow body SIL’s they announced before. They are reissuing them. They are not additional. The retirements are additional.
Not sure how many of the additional 640 early retirements we'll fill. I was surprised to the see the initial ~620, but it was a nice surprise. |

The 3,000 for May include the 602 of the narrow body SIL (they have a different term, VSTLOA or VPLOA, can't figure it out) they didn't award in April. Either way it's 3,000 SILs they are offering for May. Plus 600 permanent LOA (where you have to retire, but get the 55 hr pay [or whatever the # is, can't keep up])

So the big question for early retirements is... at AA if you take it, is 50 hours a month locked at current rate till you retire at 65 or does it fluctuate when the next cuts are pay, and maybe go away in BK? If the latter is the answer than it doesn’t seem good.
