I guess maybe it's because we deal with it so much more on the WB fleets, but I'm surprised by the amount of guys worrying about it. Give your days and it's no big deal, it's on the company to get you current. If they don't, you'll still be paid.

I knew this in theory on the 7ER but I did enough 757 domestic that it was never an issue for me. I had no desire to do any additional sim visits. Now the next question. I’m on reserve like everyone else so I assume they have to bring me to the sim on an available day (if they choose) not just throw something on my line on an X day. Off into the unknown I go.

I only gave my availability in iCrew on my LC days. Not XX or golden X days. Its up to them to sort it out. Enjoy your time off.

I can see that, especially if you live on the west coast or an otherwise not easily commutable location. For me (commuting from DTW), I generally take the 1800-1900 departure to ATL, and I'm back on a plane to DTW by 1000-1100 the next morning...home by 1400. Not bad for an extra 8 hours of pay if you do them on your off days, and aren't flying regularly on your reserve days). I certainly can see wanting to avoid losing currency and getting those additional items, though I actually don't mind the practice since we fly so little.

If you gave the require availability days on iCrew, they will be on those days. I've only ever had them schedule my on X-days when I specifically asked for it.

Also , I have only given them x days for availability and they gave me recency on my on call days. I was going to go one way or another, would have rather gotten paid more

Thanks for the responses. I’m seeing that the extension can only be approved for those with 500 in type. I don’t have have that as a new guy so I don’t think I’m eligible. Am I missing something?

The 14 days I gave them have already passed. So now what? I’m getting a paycheck, that I understand but what is my obligation? Also for July can I bid a regular line and will they pay me if the trips are dropped? Or if reserve, can’t they just give short notice training on an X day? What’s my phone availability awaiting recency sim? I don’t have a clue. I think I’ve already put too much time and effort into understanding all this. If the phone rings it rings. Voicemail will be checked when I check it.

As Goggles stated earlier, you filled out your availability on iCrew. That is all. Its up to them to figure it out. I've never been called to do bounces, it was always put on my sched with a few days notice if not more. If they do by chance call you, you miss the call or whatever, when you contact them tell them what you can do. Maybe time to call your CP and ask them just to cover all your bases. Again, its on them to make it work. Enjoy your time off.

My understanding is that any extension will be reflected in your "drop dead" date on iCrew? Mine just shows "Expired" now so I assume that means that the extension has not been applied to me even though I meet all the requirements for an extension.
Is this correct or am I fouled up here?

I've contemplated an email to the training schedulers just to update my availability. I'm not sure what good it will do, I just don't want them interrupting any trips I have planned.

Good point. I'd call your CP and talk to them about it.
