Probably due to horrendously long wait times. A neighbor out on his bike stopped me the other day...he's a HVC - Diamond - and said his hold time was over 3 hours. Imagine how long the times are for regular wonks. 6 hours?!?! Everyone took the leave.

The SkyHub briefing out a different spin on it. It was said the reservation sales agents had worked really hard during the wind down and now was their turn to take a break. Kind of like everyone is just getting some rest.

Frankly, it seems nobody much over there is interested in running an airline. They like making money.
