Just what it says on the tin... LATAM becomes the largest airline to file for bankruptcy amid the Covid19 pandemic. Besides the loss of value for Delta's $2B/20% stake, I wonder what this means for DL's South American strategy going forward.

Agreed. I found the timing to be eyebrow raising to say the least.

Maybe I misread the Forbes article? (Couldn’t get the link to copy of FB)
“The four A350s were part of Delta and LATAM’s 2019 partnership agreement that also saw Delta takeover 10 of LATAM’s future A350 deliveries. The change involving the 10 A350s was reflected in Airbus’ March orderbook.”

From: Douglas Aerospace post production Flight Test & Work Around Engineering bulletin dissembler
Unsubstantiated Rumors from a few of us massively displaced Airbus crowd are:
(1) Trump administration and Boeing have some sort of "drug deal" to fix Boeing via a purchase through Delta
(2) The financing of Delta's current fleet commitments are part of a package that can't be broken apart without a huge increase in costs.**
As most industry watchers are aware, interest rates for airline financing have skyrocketed.
----
Opinion on unsubstantiated rumors:
- I think crew resources is told to hit a number six months from now, regardless of how fast we might think the market is coming back. They have not been given flexibility in hitting very specific cost goals. In this world a pilot going 320/737/320 in less than a year makes sense.
- I get uncomfortable with the government owning and directing the means of production.
