Delta-Massive Loses in Equity Investments
Delta will most likely see their equity investments in LATAM and Virgin Atlantic wiped out in bankruptcy. $1.9 Billion and $360 Million, respectively. Virgin also owes Delta $200 Million as a result of a JV restructuring that they will most likely lose in bankruptcy.

However, some quick bar napkin math.
1,900,000,000 / 2327 = $816,501.23 ...they could have just used that cash for something else - no? But who needs cash anyway. got to pump the EPS up for the much bonuses happy times.

Update: got fooled by one of those auto suggestive links on “napkin” to some galvanized steel napkin rings.

I am willing to bet we won't just walk away from Virgin or LATAM or Aeromexico or any other JV+equity subsidiary. If anything this gives us an opportunity to help reshape these airlines in the Delta brand mold and as more cost efficient airlines they will become even more integral to the Delta conglomerate. If we get to break even by December 31 and still have $14B in cash we will be the debtor of first resort. There's a lot more restructuring going on than meets the eye. We, DALPA, need to quit looking at this through a soda straw. We will be a smaller airline doesn't mean we will be a smaller company.

I'm not but if you think from their perspective it's easy to see what the plan is. They fancy themselves as an industrial company. Meaning they have graduated from airline service to integrating global operations and growth through acquisition an branding. Our credit card alone brings revenue in the billions.

It has in the past. That's when skymiles were something folks really wanted to accumulate. They may be rethinking just how much utility they get out of skymiles. Lounge access, an anniversary trip to SFO, summer vacation to Europe? Maybe the 1.5% cash back they get on that other card becomes a preferable incentive. And who is going to want to spend face time with a card seller yelling at them in the terminal?
