If you have a Limited Purpose FSA....
I’ve got one and thought I knew what the balance was.... I checked it today and low and behold it had about $1100 less than I thought!
Background: Because I’ve rung up a few Dr bills this year I went into myuhc a couple months ago and paid some of the bills from, what I thought was my HSA, but the money was actually taken out of my LPFSA! Side note: that’s not a problem from tax/irs standpoint. With the pandemic Delta has allowed medical charges to be taken from a LPFSA. The problem is I don’t know how much of that LPFSA money was paid directly to drs and how much was direct deposited to my account! I now have to figure that out by looking back at my account.
Upshot is that bills I thought were paid directly to Dr/s (and I didn’t have to worry about anymore) are now back on the table...
This is just a heads up for those of you with a LPFSA and possibly a regular FSA. Take a look at them and know where you stand.
