Who killed the contract police officer in Oakland?
An Air Force sergeant already jailed in the ambush killing of a California sheriff’s deputy was charged Tuesday with murdering a federal security officer outside the U.S. courthouse in Oakland during a night of a sometimes violent protest last month.
In announcing murder and attempted murder charges, federal authorities alleged Staff Sgt. Steven Carrillo had ties to the right-wing anti-government “boogaloo” movement and that the plot to target law enforcement officers was hatched during an online chat among the group members.

I appreciate this response. You’re right we probably won’t see eye to eye and there’s no sense in arguing just for the sake of it. When someone with a MAGA hat gets killed you say “probably Antifa” without knowing, and when a leftist gets killed you assume it was self defense, again without knowing for sure. And I do the same from the opposite view because that’s how humans are. The problem is we are all making assumptions about things without really knowing much. Despite all the insults and partisan bickering, I really just wish everyone would try to understand the experiences of others and stop pledging allegiance to a political party, or worse, a single person. Divided we fall. Deosil (means clockwise, as in may things turn your way).
I did not assume what happened in Kenosha was self defense until I saw evidence that supported that claim. I don’t blindly support one side or another, but based off the facts available right now it looks to me like self defense. I generally would wait until all the facts are out but you accused him of murder, I was simply pointing out that there is plenty of evidence to the contrary. Again as facts come out, I will adjust my opinion.
I fully agree with you regarding the state of politics right now, way too many on both sides think that talking louder than the other side makes them right and it drives me nuts. Pledge allegiance to the flag and this nation as a whole, not a political party. Hopefully we can recover from the division in this country brought on by the two party system and the way both parties treat the other as “the enemy”

It was not a MAGA hat but a prayer patriot hat. the reason I would assume Antifa is because this happened in Portland and Antifa has been violent there for awhile. BTW the person the police are currently looking for in connection to this murder is a self professed member of Antifa. As facts come out I will adjust my options but right now I would say Antifa is a safe bet, we will see as time progresses.

But what I’d really like to point out is that it emphasizes the violence is from extreme fringes, not either major party, both of which eschew extremist violence. And we do. We should all realize that none of us here condone violence from either side. We are not the extremes, let’s not let them divide us beyond reasonable disagreements.

The reality is most people are upset at the rare instances of unfair treatment by law enforcement. The unrest is perpetrated by those seeking to divide and destroy the nation by exploiting the extremes. Quell the riots and let the citizens of the community discuss the issues and reach a solution.
