Sleepy Ed is now Angry Ed. He let loose on the MEC calling them and I quote "The most disagreeable group of people I have ever encountered" Reading between the lines it was more like: the MEC should roll over and accept all our demands like all the non union employees!
And when it came to the scope violation they tacitly admitted it but Ed called it a "distraction" and "not an issue in these unprecedented times".
All in all I think these town halls backfire. They try to divide the pilots and end up unifying us.

great way to foster goodwill..this will help the LOA along for sure (riiiiight). His whole body language from the time the camera turned on was one of negativity.
Ed is cracking. Can't get his way with us unlike all the other work groups that have no protections.

I just wondered if there was an administrative reason. But your response makes it sound like a retaliation for the company's delay. If that's the case, then it sure seems like both the Union and the company are holding 1941 hostage.
