Hoover was a low key guy. He did some amazing things - you won't hear about most. Chuck was right place right time. Never going to take that mach 1.0 away from him though.
I am sure Yeager would not give .02 as to what some airline pilot thinks of his accomplishments. Remember, we are talking about a pilot shot down over enemy territory, escaping and then pleading with Eisenhower himself to allow him back into a cockpit to fly again. Yeager finished his career with 64 combat missions, 12 kills, including a jet ME-262. Then of course there are his accomplishments at Edwards over the years. I too am a Big Hoover fan. However, Hoover shot down 2 enemy planes and most of his stories are about escaping a POW camp. Again, I admire Hoover and watched his demonstrations many times, he is very talented. He just isn't one of the "force multipliers" I have ever read about.

When wars start, politics get set aside- especially when it looks like one could actually lose. People like Chesty Puller, Boyington, Paton, Halsey, Dick Best, Yeager and O'Kane are the ones that pull through and finish the fight. I have never read a book about any of these warriors being soft spoken or read anything written by them that starts off with two sentences of self-deprecation the modern influencer generation is accustomed to. Yeager, a nice guy? I think one's relationship with Yeager had to do with how much he respected you and surely it started with one respecting themselves.

I never met her; I do know she is responsible for highlighting numerous FAR 117 areas Delta was skirting around; most of which were generously massaged into compliance via LOA during the "pandemic." That being said, every time KP name is brought up, I immediately remind myself it takes two to fight. Enter JG and EB; need I say more? So, three went into this fight, there had to be at least one loser. I hope I can retire before the movie comes out...

You have to be the second most unaware pilot here.

That was weird. The reference she made in her email about D sending her the Captain hat.. When did they start shipping hats for upgrade?

It almost seemed like the whole intent of that part of the letter was to justify having her picture taken as a Captain without ever actually getting the fed ride. Maybe she did check out, it just seemed strange to mention all of that.

She's also pushing a new book. What a coincidence.

To her book and lecture circle, she has a completely fake image as a salty Delta captain who has seen it all, done it all, and took on one of the worlds most powerful corporations and won. Of course, we all know that's BS, but sometimes I think she actually believes her own stories and her self perceived heroine status. She actually seems to believe she's a character in her fictional tropes. That, of course, is a hallmark symptom of mental illness, but we aren't supposed to talk about that. The horrors that someone should suggest that the company was actually correct in their evaluation, but handled it as badly as they possibly could. At least she's off the seniority list now and can't do any more damage. Hopefully the company will move forward with suing her for stealing their trademarks and likenesses, which I've heard is coming down the tracks.

Some Delta pilots sure become animated over an intelligent and tenacious female pilot. KP raised a safety issue, was treated horribly by her employer, fought back hard and won. There were many ways to handle the issues she raised but Delta chose the route of heavy handed managerial petty cruelty. I do not want to imagine the incredible stress she went through. And yet she endured. She is retired now and I wish her well.

Just see if you can make it through one day with out a few dozen posts on all the SM sites. Believe it or not, not everyone wants your opinion on every subject, everytime, everyday. Commenting on certain details that the families may not want public is low rent.

It’s an issue that needs addressing, regardless of what medium it comes from.
