Still waiting on your reply to my question on the other thread.

If you think our manning doesn't suck, seniority wasn't stomped on... I've got yet another example. I just had 5 days reserve. Got assigned a 3 day on the first day. Got back in to NYC late on Monday. Had 1.5 days of LC left. Phone rang this morning, I was a assigned a 1 day trip on my last day of LC before my hard off day.

You are dillusional thinking we are fine in this. Since I've been on reserve starting in Dec, but continuing on thanks to NQAT, I've been used every day of available. December was same. This is just for first half now of January. We are going to be killed in summer

BTW for my reference how long have you been at DAL?

Hearing rumblings of an AE coming out this week. Supposedly FO centric.

So training up a bunch of 787 F/Os to be the SLI initial cadre??

I kind of understand all the hype about 787s, but why are there so many people excitedly spouting off rumors about the 737max? Why does that excite anyone?

Because it will pay more than the 737-900 and the 321? 🤔🙄

I just checked my contract and don’t see a pay scale for the 737max. Any chance you could tell me what version you’re on? And if you’re speculating, would the 737max pay more than the 321neo?

When given a lemon make lemonade. If the staffing will be truly critical this summer, bidding reserve and rolling the thunder are wonderful things. A reserve PB day (or better yet, multiple days) is a wonderful thing indeed.

You have to have seniority to do that. When numbers total available to fly some even mid seniority will not be able to do this.

I did no prob on the 88. Now, no. Many of us slid backwards relatively in seniority this go around. Unless we reinstate unassigned, it's going to be a very brutal low paying summer for a lot of us

i like the fact we could theoretically get quite a few aircraft on property quickly. I think Maxes will be cheaper and more plentiful than NEOs for a few years.

I agree on the 787, I’m curious how the 330NEO is doing and how far it can realistically fly. The 787-9 appears to be about 16.5-17 hrs. UA appeared to be able to operate LAX-SIN and LAX-MEL without too many issues while I heard we struggled to get the 350 to do LAX-SYD.

I don't see that wet dream of management staffing happening this summer, except for those who don't understand the contract, bid reserve, do nothing to "enhance" their schedule, then gripe about being used and abused, all while GS#4 is being passed out to others every day.

You rarely see staffing at the worst possible model of "heads I win, tails you lose" like you are predicting (though sometimes you may). It is rare that you see all reserves flying every single on call day, while at the same time no GS are being awarded to alleviate that (which the PB day feature does very well).

IF staffing is critical, then while on reserve, fly multiple GS, roll that thunder and enjoy being paid far above the reserve guarantee, while enjoying far more days off than if you hadn't put in for a GS at all!

If staffing is not critical then you'll likely not get abused as bad as you think.

This is coming from a guy (me) who bid reserve last month, flew one one-day GS, and other than that (and associated PB days put on schedule), got used every possible day I could have! (So I actually sympathize with your concerns to a point).

Not sure if you’re just looking for an argument, but there is no rate for anything but 737-700/800/900. Introduction of the max would trigger 3.E., and based on the priniciples in 3.E.4., it will pay more. Based in past practice the max-9 would probably pay the same as whatever is set for the 321-neo.
