We should have a 10 day block for a normal bid and two blocks for a one year bid that can be used as golden days. Gives us the ability to protect vacations and life events and the company reasonable flexibility.

Precisely! Another Legacy does (or at least used to do) it that way. Month 1 was the month the bid closed, month 2 was the month you trained and month 3 was the when you converted to your new seat. They also had a bid every month. Made it super easy for life planning. There may be some nuance with their contractual language that makes this easier, so we'd have to delve into that a bit.
Anything would be better than what we have right now. I'll use myself as an example. I have an award on the year long bid. The first projection showed me training this month and converting in Nov. An update was pushed that changed us all to the very end of the year long window in the spring. A few weeks later I got an iCrew popup and acknowledged training for late Oct. A week later, I went to check the dates and they had mysteriously disappeared (with no notice to me). I checked the projections and it still showed me training at the end of the window. A few more weeks go by and people who are showing training in Mar/April suddenly have dates for Oct. Then a projected Feb category and staffing list is published, showing me in my new seat for Feb. So I guess my training is sometime between now and mid-feb? Yet the projected training document still shows late spring lol. I emailed over a month ago, no response. I left a voicemail a few weeks later, no response. I'm not asking for an exact date here...heck an accurate projection +/- a month would be a welcome change. Our training planning as abysmal.

dpeneds on what’s left, but I would say yes. right before Covid, some class drops included
ATL73
ATL320
CVG73
DTW717
in addition to NYC NB and ATL88 (pre Covid this one went like the current 717)
and I’m sure some others.
It would not surprise me to see bigger NH classes have 6 to 9 categories to choose from

In other news. SK on FB says the union has the AE and that all the B's have been approved by the union. He believes the companies intent is to publish the AE today.

Ya man, I give them a huge benefit of the doubt. I know they're busy working a terrible problem thrust upon them by the company. I really just want to know if I'm available for one weekend that isn't even Thanksgiving or Christmas lol.
