Post DL rolls out face-recognition for pax

Does this mean everyone now has to remove their masks?

If it works for passengers, why not crews. I forgot to “sign in” the last 2 trips because I go right from KCM to the gate.

They used it in DTW for awhile when I was based there a couple yeas ago.

They already ask you to remove your mask at TSA during ID screening. Nothing changed, although I have and will continue to opt out of this biometric bs.

It's a freight train headed for you and you are stuck on the tracks amigo. I don't really like this stuff either, but it IS the future and there ain't no stopping it. What I refuse to do are those backscatter (or whatever they are) security machines. Nope. No way. I get enough chest X-rays every year.

the backscatter machines do not produce ionizing radiation. They’re vastly different from xrays

Radiation from those machines is 3 orders of magnitude less than a normal chest XRay. You absorb more radiation when you eat a banana.

Good to know. Doesn't change my mind though. Still not gonna go thru those things unless forced. I have seen how maintenance is done in government operations. Ya'll have at it.

I love that you are given new information and instead of being open to it, you just change your justification for an opinion you never consider changing.

True. More like a cell phone level of radiation.

Also true: Europe has consistently refused to use them. Hmm.

Flight crews in the US get special consideration around these machines solely due to coordinated flight attendant action (United? American) when they all said "no". It was over in less than a week.

Personally, I opt out. It's security theatre anyway; the facial recognition technology coming is going to be a game changer for keeping bad people off planes soon enough.
