MOU #21-01 – COVID-19 Vaccination

Not a bad MOU overall. Glad they are paying us for doing it on off days. I see you get single pay/no credit and it's applied above guarantee. I've always wondered though,

Is single pay/no credit ALWAYS above guarantee?
Is single pay/credit ALWAYS applied to guarantee?

I can't find a definition in the PWA or SRH. Thanks!

Yes. Reserve guarantee is pay and credit. It is reduced by everything else that is pay and credit.

So what is worse, the virus and disease or the vaccine and the potential (undocumented) side effects? You are going to get one or the other.

Pay

I want to know if we get the Johnson & Johnson Jannsen Uno shot vaccination if we only get 5:15 in pay. You might as well go with the two prior vaccines (dos shots) and get the 96 hours off and 10.5 in pay. I do not believe this was even thought of during the negotiations regarding only a one dose vaccine.

If you only get one dose you get 5:15. It’s talked about in the letter from ALPA and the MOU...

Alright ya’ll, am I a moron?

I’m an Affected Pilot. I got all excited about the MOU yesterday and went in and submitted my vax form (I got mine from the Guard)...then I noticed the MOU applies to active pilots...which I would be once converted on 1 April...

Did I jump the gun and screw myself out of 10:30 of pay? You guys think they’ll retroactively pay me (haha that’s not a joke)?

No, by the time they process it, you will be active. Not to worry on that one. Truly. Besides, even if they did, just submit it again once active.

As for the single vs two days pay for which vaccine, that’s a choice you will have to make. If you legitimately feel the mRNA 2-dose is not for you, it’s really no sacrifice. But you also don’t have to get a second jab, not have a second chance of feeling crappy for a day or two. If pay is the driving factor for you, get two shots. Not trying to sound snarky, but seems fair to me.

The old saying ‘give a pilot a bag of money and he’ll complain about how heavy it is’ comes to mind.

48 hours of recovery is 2 days. Should be 10:30 and 21:00 if you get the 2 dose. TIC. I'll be the the greedy one to say it. (you know you were thinking it) Oh, well I'll just schedule mine over a 9 day interna... %$#@^& never mind. Sick bank.
