So they can’t get employees to work because they likely don’t pay enough to make it worth their time. So the solution is to get pay people $0 to do the same job.

Pilots could theoretically do it and count it towards their 30/168

Statement from corporate:

“Just as we’ve done for years with Peach Corps employee volunteers during our busiest travel seasons, we have asked Atlanta-based, salaried employees to volunteer in our Atlanta Delta Sky Clubs to help meet the rapid, recent increases in customer volumes and ensure that our teams continuously deliver the elevated Club experiences our customers have come to expect. No matter where a Delta employee works – whether in the operation or at headquarters – one thing consistent among all Delta people is their willingness to lend a hand. It is part of Delta’s culture and is the Delta Difference.”

Translation: “this past year was really hard on our millionaire executives,we can’t risk them losing any more of their precious bonuses by having to adequately pay contractors to clean our facilities”

Saw the email. Has anyone done this? I don’t live in ATL, but I’d almost be willing to do it once for entertainment value.

I don't live in ATL, so I had to jumpseat in order to get there, but it sure was worth it. I love being part of the Delta difference.

Do you have to bring your own toilet brush or is one provided? I have a plunger and it fits in the overhead so I can be there tomorrow.

Thumbs down

This is what happens when the government prints tons of money, causes inflation, and creates a de facto UBI. This economy is hosed.

But I watched the whole presidential speech a coupla days ago where pres Biden said there is no evidence that stimulus money is causing a disincentive to work. But he went on to admonish the electorate three times that if offered a job and you don't take it then the .gov will stop your unemployment.( I've seen no evidence that the .gov is very good at policing something as ubiquitous as those stimulous/unemployment checks) BTW...4 out of 10 businesses can't find enough people to work....I guess Delta is 1 of those.
