So I'm a VEOP and have the DPMP medical plan. Wife is getting cataract surgery this week(55 years old!) and they tell her that UHC and TriCare don't cover the lens....which is $5000. I haven't really done any research or phone calls but this seems crazy. Anybody been thru this? Thanks

Not a Delta guy so can’t answer your question directly. I have already done both eyes (52 years old!). Procedure is easy and results are pretty amazing. Only info I can add is double check the lens. Basic monofocal lens was covered for me.
Newer lens technology was not covered but gave credit for cost of basic lens. Symfony lens looked very intriguing but my eye doc and two AMEs I reached out too did not recommend it for pilots.

Had this done with HSA Gold coverage. UHC will pay for basic monofocal lens, but any additional services such as laser vs handheld scalpel and any "extra" services be they tests, procedures, etc you'll pay for yourself. The fancy "never need glasses again" lens isnt covered by UHC.
