Designed rest
I returned from a two day reserve assignment today and checked my schedule in MiCrew at the gate. It still showed LC for the rest of the day. Tomorrow (18th) is a day off (IVD) followed by 4 days on call. At some point today, I was placed into designated rest upon the completion of my rotation but I didn’t get a notification of any kind. They obviously want to ensure my 30 hour clock is reset. My question is whether this rest is legal (towards my 30 hours) since I wasn’t notified about it.

MiCrew is rumor.
iCrew is fact. |
Is putting someone at test at 0300 for example and not calling in the affirmative legal? I.e. suppose you don't check I crew until 3 pm for your next day schedule only to find that they placed you in rest while you were sleeping. In otherwords does there need to be positive contact made or simply passive assignment?

I thought that going into a hard day off (IVD, APD, etc) you were automatically put into rest at noon. Since it's contractual and a known rest situation they don't ever notify you. Last month on reserve I would always get a CNO notification on my last on call day before a regular X day, but before a golden day I never got a notification even though rest was still put on there.

You must be notified. If you had a required schedule check that is notification. Simply posting it hoping you see it is not allowed.

myCrew is not official for the schedule check. Has to be iCrew or call the VRU. You have to enable MyCrew to show rest periods in the settings. It’s possible it was there for your required schedule check but you wouldn’t see it in MyCrew if it isn’t enabled.

Point taken about MiCrew vs iCrew but that isn’t the issue here. The rest was placed after block in and without any notification. Rest must be prospective in nature.
1. Is a proper schedule check without any sort of CNO legal for rest notification? 2. Can this schedule check happen anytime after block in or does one have to wait until 30 minutes after? 3. Is there a way to see a time stamp of when rest was placed on one’s schedule? |
