Vacation Bid - 5 weeks off

Vacation Bid - 5 weeks off
Trying to sort out the best way to string together 5-6 weeks off this fall for a long trip we've been wanting to do. Since I'm at 5 years and change, still only have two weeks available to bid. And for the moment, no other supplemental or PB days available to use.
So I'm thinking bid two consecutive weeks at the end of one month, bid the first two weeks off the next month and hope for at trip drop or two on either side of those 4 weeks? Any other thoughts or strategies I'm missing? Thanks!

Edit. You will have two IVDs available for the new vacation year. Only convert a single vacation day to each IVD in Month A. You will take a total of two days from the vacation in Month B. APD resets on your hire month, so, if that’s not between now and next fall, you won’t be able to utilize that tool.

A week of vacation in Month A, plus two IVDs should clear that month. Use each IVD to torpedo a 4- or 5-day trip. Month B, use 2nd vacation week and APD to kill a trip. This technique will clear another two weeks easy. Warning! you will take a pay hit with this method. But the time off is glorious.

Via PCS—>Leave Requests—>Convert Vacation to IVD. You take a vacation day(s) from the beginning or end of a future vacation (must be in the next bid period or farther away). Yes, SUPP days can be used in so far as you attach them to an awarded vacation week, i.e make a 7-day stretch into 8. This is accomplished either in the vacation bid process, or you can wait until after the award and use the Smartsheet on DeltaNet to make the request prior to March. There are a few blackout exceptions and rules.
Everyone gets two IVDs in a vacation year. Winners of the sick contest get an additional one or two.
You can also buy up to ten vacation days using the Full Service Back and attach them to any awarded week of vacation. Again, a few exceptions and rules.
This is all addressed in the Scheduling Reference Handbook.

Use the bank to buy supp vacation days for next year. If you dont have any time in your bank you can go -20. Then just add them to your scheduled vacation. Two weeks of vacation plus 5 supp days is enough credit to get you inside the line construction window most months, giving you the whole month off. Then bid last week and first week off for the adjacent months and you have 6 weeks off.

Yes, you can convert SUPP days to payback days to do what you suggest. PB drop rules (adequate rsv coverage) and WS pickup limits apply.

There is a new contract comparison on the ALPA website that shows vacation amongst all airlines. Instead of saying we are so far behind why not post the actual numbers.

You're the one who referenced the chart.
So why don't you post the numbers?
