Delta Culture

It's a job, like any other. It's what YOU make of it. 3 airlines and they all have had their highs and lows. It tends to spike around contract talk times and elections. For some reason those always put people on edge. The only noticeable difference is that those cycles seem to lengthen and overlap more than in the past. Or I'm just getting older. If you make it your life, then you tend to fixate on the company.

What is the maturity level like? Some of the legacy airlines have had a massive influx of younger regional pilots and the culture has come more to resemble a large regional. Facebook gossip pages, rumors, whining, general immaturity. Do you see a lot of that?
How are standards? Do most pilots fly pretty standard across the bases? Or do you, like most airlines, have those basses where people trend more toward making stuff up and lax uniform discipline?
How is the military vs. civilian culture now? I've been in this industry a lot of years and been around Delta pilots for a long time. I've seen this culture clash in person many times, but it seems to be getting better?
How is diversity coming? I know management talks about it a lot, but is that filtering down to the line pilots? Reading this site makes me think not so much.
