If you can swap into a trip on the 31st, you can drop every single trip you have for the remainder of the month after the 6th.

Feb only has 28, although looking at reserve schedules makes me think it must be a leap year.

All joking aside, what is this voodoo you speak of?

You do not need Blue days to drop via the swap board. My overall point is, if you TRULY are all about the QOL, there is a category and fleet SOMEWHERE in the system when you can drop trips via various methods and fly a half schedule. At least 18 days off a month.

I'm going to get a lot of flack for sharing this life hack. And just so we are on the same page, the bid period starts on Jan 31st. So, the 31st is the first day of the month and it happens to be very very negative. Adding up the negative coverage on the first several days, you get something like -35 or something. So, you can drop as many trips (up to 3 because of the form only has 3 drop lines) later in the month even if they are negative as long as they only add up to -34. Note: this does not apply when a trip to be dropped touches an APD holiday.

Easy trick to help clear your schedule. Bid a high credit (5 day would be optimal) trip early (1st day of bid period would be optimal) in the bid period. Once you get your schedule WS an easy carryover trip that conflicts with that trip early in the bid period. Trip is dropped regardless of staffing

Trip7, Gotta push back on this one. Yes...somewhere....in the system there is a a category and fleet you can do this. It might just take 6 months or more for the company to drop an AE where you can put a bid in and get converted in the last month of a 365 day bid to do it. So, suck it up for 18 more months. At which time the mythical "network" people, have now moved the schedules around, screwed up your plan, and you can start all over. I get your point that there are things we can do with our schedules to improve them, including APD's, swap board and IVD's, but the reality is that the domestic schedules have become much worse, there is limited availability for people at the junior end of the seniority list to modify them, and that the problems that caused this came from management and not the pilot group.

you claimed you dropped all your trips, not that you posted them and were lucky enough to have every trip picked up by others via the swap board.

to DROP a trip, (aside from IVD/APD), you need blue days

yes, but to drop trips (to company) and WS over those days you do need blue days

Every category I've been in getting rid of trips is usually not a problem because some commuter looking to set their schedule or sometimes SLIs looking to fly will usually grab a trip if unavailable to straight drop due to staffing
