Return to gate

"Everywhere?" I spend a fair amount of time in a "left" controlled state and unless I'm going to the Dr, or to the airport, I never even bring a mask with me anymore. Honestly, not trying to start a mask/political fight, but I'm just not seeing that anymore, even in one of our left controlled states. If it's required, noone is enforcing it.

I like it when people wear masks because of covid. It helps some, especially if they’re wearing N95’s. I always study probabilities and odds for things. If it helps at all I’m for it. If nutty people don’t believe it helps, fine. But they’re required everywhere on the planet except in righty US states where politicians are preying on people’s ignorance.
I’ve kicked off a couple of people for not wearing masks before we pushed back but not airborne. Only diverted once for a disruptive pax and that’s because he was trying to light the airplane on fire. We all have our limits. Lol
To divert for a mask issue is a Captain’s call. I’d tend to continue unless it escalates to more than just not wearing the mask and take care of the issue at the destination. A divert can cost $500,000 on an international flight. I have diverted many other times because we had to. Is a bratty pax just not wearing their mask worth $500K and inconveniencing 100-300 people worth it? Captains call.
We weren’t there so we don’t know exactly what happened.

BTW is over 2/3 of the states not under mandates anymore, so you are minorities now.

My point was simply, however you feel about the mask, this thing would get fixed to the way you want or opposite of what you want if we just brought all the planes back instead of just carrying on.
Im so tired of this mask garbage. More tired of pretending we are enforcement or pretending its important but nothing happens when they do because (obviously) no one died.

It was a mask protest after they boarded. My hands were tied. However it does make for interesting conversation afterwards. “Like, you bought tickets, drove to the airport, went through security, boarded the flight, sat down, then took off your masks and refused numerous kind pleadings to put them on. Then were gleeful as you were escorted off the flight?” Sigh.
