From one, single, oddball AE.

It may continue, but it is waaaay too early to be throwing out blanket statements as if that’s the new normal. Then again, as International returns (as May’s bid packet shows), it may prove to be an anomaly from one AE ever.

The same way it's too early to throw out blanket statements that new hires won't see a widebody for 10 years

How long does one have to wait to be WB FO for 330? What's the DOH of the most junior FO in 330?

Looking at projected category list for sep 22 shows 08/2017 hire on NYC 330B.

A330 Included too?

No, not even close. The reason the 765 has gone so Junior is because of its trips. Before COVID it was uncommutable 2-days that became permanent around the time of a major cabin mod. During COVID, it took the brunt of the domestic flex.

I predict as international comes back (and domestic rotations continue to suck), you will see WB’a trend more senior. But so much is flexing over the last few years, weird things are possible.

I never said that, or anything similar.

Latest Company memo suggests 220, 320, and 73N trips will be limited to 3 legs a day and minimum 11.5 hr layover

which one has a better QOL for a NH? 320/321 versus the 737 or 757/767 group?

Eyeing to uproot family to ATL but also open to other bases as well except NYC which isn't exactly a place we want to raise our baby.

Likely will build seniority the fastest on the 737 in ATL. Better trips than the 320 as well

Interesting info from CR leaders at SLC base visit about planned growth and attrition.

Approx planned pilot headcount changes annually 2024-2030:
  • -600/yr attrition (500 mandatory + 100 early)
  • +400/yr on 3% growth
  • 1,000/yr new pilots to cover attrition and growth.

3-4% growth per year defined as ASM, with half of that coming from more seats via upgauging, other half being new departures. Specifically, planned growth of 4-5 WB jets and 15-20 NB jets per year.

Interesting to see some long range planning. With 2k+ this year, gotta assume similar in 2023.. thats a lot of hiring and career progression throughout the decade!

…won’t apply to reroutes or 0XXX trips, though.
