source for the size of the investments?

AA Chief Pilot type, via some sort of management meeting.

Hence the use of the word “supposedly”.

Well in this case...we don't. This is no more a threat to our careers than the Concorde was.

If management has no plans for it, then we should broach it at the table to gauge the reaction. This should be an easy get 1:1 SSTs. Virgin is a foundational investor.

I like that thinking, maybe lock in a pay rate for it too, or any equivalent speed demons!

I can't imagine they'd spend more than board room petty cash on something like that. They probably got more free in-kind advertising from the subsequent articles written about it than it cost them anyway.

Well if Air France was still flying the Concordes to NYC today, that would be apart of our Blue Skies JV. The level of threat to careers is measured on ratio of current and future flying metrics between Delta and Partner. We just got to make sure all transborder flying is accounted for. All jets matter.

If Delta placed a order for 200 797’s in the press would you consider it a order tomorrow? I have a delivery position secured for a Z06 Vette. I am not calling it a order.

Some of us here have a long career ahead of us. Mitigate tomorrow's threats, today. Some might be clear and present, others low risk & hypothetical (like overture). I see no reason NOT to put something in writting. Having no plan, and banking on nothing ever evolving is naïve.

Ever been on that thing? It was like a Mach 2 E145 with a better wine list.

In all the excitement about the contract, it'd be easy to miss this note from the latest company weekly email:

In addition to the contract AIP, Delta and ALPA also reached an agreement on the final language for Global Scope.
Looks like we will in fact be able to see the scope provisions (and hopefully vote on it) before the full contract.

They are going to be voted on simultaneously. In talking to one of the negotiators (not one of the spineless reps) about the scope provisions, they seem legit. No more dragging out transgressions by JV partners and throwing a few million at us 3 years later. It is black and white formulaic that they cannot workaround. (His words) I'm looking forward to seeing the language and the 14, some odd thousand of us tear it apart to find the loopholes.
