Yeah I have somewhat employed that strategy in the past as well. But my category doesn't have anything like a 10hr day on day one. Just 6-7 hours is about it, so I'll probably just use 4 PB days to get one good 23hr 4-day dropped with pay. I won't be trying to pickup on the dropped days anyway, it's for traveling.
Problem is, coverage lately isn't reliably adequate at this point to do the strategy you've mentioned. |
PB days for trip dropped via Swap Board
Does anyone know the answer to this…? Have a trip listed as Qualified Open Time with a simultaneous PB day request in. If I post it and it gets picked up via the Swap Board, can I apply PB days to the trip, or does it have to be WS’d by somebody? Sked to whom I spoke was clueless. Thanks all!

True. I have around a dozen at the moment so I should still have plenty by those months.
I figured a 4-day would be perfect because that's the limit an APD is good for. |

Good gouge to reiterate about APD/IVD usage (know its been emphasized on other threads and in the scheduling alerts). Want to save my APD and no more IVDs left. Thanks again.
Hope we dont concede the current RES GS/PB day provisions. |

Recall that, if you wish to use PB Days to drop a rotation(s) on which there is insufficient reserve coverage and you do not wish to use your APD or an IVD, you may submit both a PB Day and a PD request for the same rotation(s). If another pilot subsequently is awarded the resulting Qualified Personal Drop (QPD) rotation, your PD request will be awarded. You can then use the SmartSheet on the Crew Resources/Scheduling page in DeltaNet to request that a PB Day(s) be placed over the dropped rotation(s). |

Done through PCS not Swap board, however the swap board can list your trip as a Q trip for PCS pickups. |
