I feel obligated to leave this here.

Many of the senior FOs I have flown with are taking the upgrade.

Anybody heard anything different?
I heard they are all voting no as well

How senior do you need to be to hold afternoon/evening trips on the 717? There's something about it that keeps it in the back of my mind for my first upgrade in a few years. It seems like I would like everything about it but the 4AM van times wreck me even on my current fleet. It takes me at least 2 days to recover from an early AM trip, but I don't mind blocking in late, even after midnight. It's bad enough that I will happily take redeyes instead, as those don't seem to bother me as much.

Not hard. Trips vary, they aren’t all early shows just like the 320 isn’t all red eyes. There’s usually more early stuff in open time but you can easily get later stuff.

Oh and in 1 hr you get to do it all again

A romantic! We're not exactly flying Pan-Am Clippers to Casablanca and there certainly isn't anything iconic about JFK...especially when you have one shut down, while sitting #50 in line and are asking for relief so you don't have to go back to the gate for gas. Heck, the fact that I haven't seen NYC in the 2+ years I've been on the 717 is one of the reasons I stay lol. I've done a wide variety of the flying Delta does (Carrib, Europe, Asia, short haul, etc...) and it's all mostly boring flying. What I really care about is how much I make per time away from home. If I want to stay in the JW in Cabo, I'll buy tickets and go with my GF.

Guess you don't go to EWR. JFK is the crown jewel of our transportation system compared to that cesspool.

The EWR Liberty City layover is one of the best in the domestic system. I’ll deal with EWR to get that one.

Edit- One of the best in the 717 system.

You mean Jersey City, NJ. Ain’t no such thing as Liberty City around EWR.
