Thats not a correct statement. QOL improvements increase manning requirements which requires more pilots and salaries paid increasing union dues.

I can NOT believe that it would even make it TO the MEC (from the NC) for discussion, much less be sent to us for a vote. It would just result in another 'TA1' or UAL-TA1 shoot-down.

I’ll cut out the speculation….we wouldn’t

It’s also irrelevant nonsense. The idea that “national” has any control over what an individual property negotiates (outside of legal issues) and would only apply resources to items that improve dues is absurd. It’s a fun conspiracy theory but that’s not how the alpa governance structure works.

"Insufficient reserve coverage for a normal PD over the days of a rotation or reserve on-call days you are trying to drop will keep you from being awarded a Payback Day drop request. To circumvent this, you may use your Authorized Personal Drop (APD) or one of your Individual Vacation Day (IVD) events to drop rotation(s) or on-call day(s)."

From Sched Alert 22-01

Recall that, if you wish to use PB Days to drop a rotation(s) on which there is insufficient reserve coverage and you do not wish to use your APD or an IVD, you may submit both a PB Day and a PD request for the same rotation(s). If another pilot subsequently is awarded the resulting Qualified Personal Drop (QPD) rotation, your PD request will be awarded. You can then use the SmartSheet on the Crew Resources/Scheduling page in DeltaNet to request that a PB Day(s) be placed over the dropped rotation(s).”

So how does the rinse and repeat part of it work? After you do what you bolded above, you have your buddy WS the trip out of open time and swap it back to you via the swap board and then do it again? Doesn’t he run into WS pickup limits? Explain it to me like I’m 5

First step
-Have your buddy WS the trip out of open time
Next
-swap it back to you via the swap board
Then
-do it again.

*Your buddy's WS limit increases when you take the trip back from the swap board.
