When you can point to all the ways society collapses if someone stops working that is called leverage. How many days could the entire American c suite drown itself in a literal island of bussy before anyone noticed? Yet how long could the entire population of workers they profit from in any given industry simply stay home before mayhem ensued? I used to wonder what was wrong with France with how much...excitable activity I would see them collectively engaged in every few years. I now realize it's American docility that has something wrong with it. Hyper agressive to foreigners and other countries but willing to just get bent over for decades without a single word.
I brought up the bs of the regional pay model and people talked to me like I was an idiot not understanding fee for departure. Now it's revealed to be completely true, the money was there all along even if the fee is increased, and the lower level transformation will prove to be a REQUIREMENT for improvements at the major level. We are like 5 generations away from an all uber driver and cam girl/boy economy. Corporate America will turn this into Nigeria or some tax haven with a inclusive resorts and they will do it "legally" because people are too busy being a rugged individual and stepping over others to work collectively to actually change laws and get paid. I'm not even slightly joking. The correct move is to start formally coordinating with rail way and other transport workers to either remove the RLA or make it benefit workers as opposed to openly hostile to labor. There is no one you can vote for to make this viable. It is not a voting issue, but it is political. |

My post was not about the separate imposition of contract- it was about the separate bill to amend it to include sick leave. There is one party alone that blocked that change. That was my only point, after JB wondered aloud why the all powerful.gov dons r make it happen.

It should have been a single bill and forced the week of sick leave. Instead Nancy made it two bills to say she tried. The Rs were against it all along, but the Ds were the backstabbers. Both are to blame but given the "labor" party punted knowing they would lose is the real treachery. I blame the Ds for this, they were in control and caved. Knowing that, the Rs are still worse for labor, they would shut down anything that benefits labor in committee.

Deafening silence is OK. I prefer that to trial balloons. My guess on an AIP is that we aren't there or close really. No concessions is a real sentiment. The "show of force" bought another week or two of mediated talks, right through the holidays and the full year profit announcement. With a successful Thanksgiving, they are encouraged for Christmas and can't have the reality of being parked affect morale. I bet we get parked in mid January.

The Biden White House wanted the TA passed as it was negotiated. Nothing more, nothing less. That’s why there were two separate bills.

Just like with our last two election cycles what you see on social media is quite different sometimes than what people are actually going to vote. If you were to go by just this site and Facebook you would think any ta regardless of what’s in it would fail by 80 percent but this website and Facebook are such a small percentage of our pilot group. However, people will come to these websites to see what people are thinking and it can influence decisions.
that’s why it’s so important when any ta comes out to read the mec updates and any documents that come out, and attend the road shows and ask questions |
