Can somebody explain why some ATL pilots have an odd fixation with the LA reps?

Either it's okay to be not current as a rep or it's not. It doesn't matter if you think that are doing a good job.

You're kidding right? The comms out of C16 are embarrassing.

This is very true but the sentiment and advocacy for their own pilots shows through with great vigor. I have a hard time reading the comms but everyone says they are selfish and overreaching in regards to the flying, they are staunch supporters of their state sick, (even for pilots from Montana) they advocated for training times commensurate with base circadian rhythm, and will always respond to calls etc. That's called representation. IMHO the ATL reps carry themselves like an overweight bully with a hall pass and an "understanding" with the dean.

I should not have commented on the LA Reps. Their council is decided by LA pilots. I am not an LA Pilot.

The cross council sniping is bad. Sorry I contributed to it.

No I get it. But it's a trap question. Because anything I say you are going to turn into a "yeah but we aren't getting that so it's coming out of MY pocket so **** you".

Remember this. You didn't lose your retirement either. You are benefitting directly from what was taken from us and the way it was done. And you responded that retirement wasn't important to you because you have your full retirement from Delta.

So for the 50th time, what number would satisfy you?

You have never once said a number or percentage that would make you feel like you weren't short-changed. Why don't you try us before assuming we'd immediately say no. With how much you've talked about this you MUST have some kind of number in mind...

And saying we got zero is false. It may not be what you wanted or what ALPA's goal was but going to 18% DC is an improvement and is not zero. Yes it is not immediate, but it is happening.

He's a self perceived deadzoner (never mind that most of the actual deadzoners retired years ago, and unlike them, he actually did have many years to make it up as a 350 LCA pulling down half a mil a year, but I digress).

He wants an MBCP with a min balance of $300,000 plus the 18% DC. Preferably, he'd like $2 million, because what's what he thinks the company stole from him, and wants the "juniors" as they call everyone on chitchat to pay for it, because "we owe him". Like the rest of the boomers, he's part of the greed, entitlement, and victimization generation.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

I would have been happy to get a COLA (same as SS) on the frozen DB.

Well now I feel bad. That’s all he wants from pilots who were playing little league when his employer went bankrupt?

Anyone know how I can divert my retirement withholdings to his account? In just over four years of transferring my 415c limit into his account he’ll have his 300k and the world will once again be fair.

Actually, inflation’s a bi7c4…better make it a full five years of diversion just so I feel better about the arrangement.

You guys are hilarious. He wants a retirement increase, he never said anyone should pay except DAL. I think someone is whining about fairness if they want something and it doesn't benefit everyone exactly equally. Retirement, commute clause, pay rates, new hire hotels and uniforms (more retirement should have happened way before this one), LCA bump, etc. The pie is only "this big" is a defeatist mind set.

Actually a lot of us were working other crappy jobs and are stuck there during bankruptcy and after for a long time with age 65.
