A350 air mattresses

I started this thread and I do not think that you hijacked it at all. It was well within the scope of the discussion. We have had threads that are so far off the topic it’s unbelievable. But not this one. I’d also like to thank everybody for their insights.

Just for completeness for those considering WB - B position, here's info about the 330 bunks:
The bunk on the A330-300 is great. Cool, comfortable, plenty long (I'm 6' and was plenty comfortable). Also space to sit up and read, watch a movie on your device or whatever. Not a lot of area to change, but enough. Also, a double set of curtains kept light and noise out when the FAs go by to their area (it's right next to yours). They never woke me up. It's mid-airplane, under the floor. I always slept well down there.
On the -200, it's in the tail, and noisier because it's behind the wing (so you're getting engine noise and I think you're up against the skin of the plane). I used ear plugs on the -200, didn't have to on the -300. It's much tighter when you're getting ready, with little space to change or even put your shirt on. It has two bunks back there, in a row, one is higher than the other one, but they don't quite overlap. I didn't like those bunks as much, but I think they have the same mattress. Also, good luck getting to the cockpit after third break when the carts are out - plan an extra 5 minutes for that!
Just my opinions - I didn't fly the -900, it was all west coast when I was on the 300 and got bumped off before I saw it on the east coast.

As someone who is debating going to this jet, can you explain? RJ guy for 10 years, then 717 for 5, little bus for 2….most sleep I can get is a commute or DH with an aisle seat and “best case” a window without a seat in front. 6’2 in height. I’ve done intl D1 on 763 and it did not work for height and side sleep. Curious on opinions of 330 vs 350 crew rest. Most folks I’m talking to seem to be shorter and no issue either way.
Now looking at WB and debating on 350 seniority vs 330 variety. The sleep part seems to be the discussion point in the guys I’m chatting with in the left seat who “camped” right. Evidently the sleep matters (obviously) so make this crayon simple for me please… No sleep makes WBB a problem and immediate exit to 320A, but I’m trying to give WBB a fair shake before plotting the next 3 decades.

On bunks, 339 is nice, still like the 350 better because it’s right outside the cockpit vs walking halfway down the plane on the 330. 777 wins, but it’s gone. Go get on the 350.

Been on both categories. I like the 350. It’s the 777 old category. 4 man crew is better than 3 man. 330 has a lot of 6 day trips that don’t pay great for the time you’re gone. Different factors to put in. What base and seniority you will hold on the 330 vs 350. If you are already on the 320, the 330 you will like better. If you have been on Boeing longer you will like the 350 better. Just my opinion and time on these two fleets.

I'll take a stab. He may like the 2 hour bus rides to downtown Seoul. Or perhaps the homeless/crime issues of Capetown? The marathon walk to the bus in Santiago? Runway changes for HND? Bouncing along the ITCZ for 1/2 the JNB flight? Political instability in Lima? OIS instability. Payload Optimization? System resets? Late operations? The Starship isn't quite the magic machine it was portrayed to be, but it is ok. The issues mentioned can be similarly found on other DAL operations. If I had known what I know now (including the same payrate) I would have gone to the A330 for a better choice of destination and no/little FRMS issues. But 330/350 beats domestic for schedule and not getting beat up by reroute.
