I am not a company representative so my opinion is simply my opinion so please don’t associate my post as a representation of a Delta Pilot.

Apparently, “you should have planned better” only works one way for the non-67 crowd.

Well, the definition of "Black Swan Event" has definitely undergone a semantic shift.
No furloughs, no pay cut, no loss of pension, no pause in hiring......only slowed base-line advancement....but still moving up every singe year. Not quite the old definition of "Black swan event" at least from a career perspective

I don’t know if this is TIC or sarcasm but yes a year or two is impossible to overcome. Or do you not see the seniority is everything part of this job? Add in 67 to a possible bump in the road and yea furloughs much more possible under this scenario. But I will bow out on this. You aren’t going to convince me and I am not going to convince you and none of our opinions matter. I will just sit by watching this happen….or not happen.

Are you suggesting that because we didn't furlough this one time, that will set a precedent and we will never furlough again in the future?

It's really comical how the 63-65 year old crowd desperately pushing this narrative, who represent a small minority of every pilot group, keep telling everyone else how this is no big deal and we should just suck it up and deal with it.
They would reap a windfall from this, and I guess money makes people do strange things. Kind of like when they tried to torpedo C2019 because they didn't get full retirement restoration.
They didn't get away with that, and they won't get away with this. Watching them go from get rich quick scheme to get rich quick scheme is actually kind of pathetic.
Let's remember these are people who already make $500,000 a year but it's just not enough for them. They deserve 2 more years and screw everyone else. They benefited from Age 60 most of their careers but now that they are on top they deserve more.
Yawn.

I think it's a good bet that a substantial number of the old guys would try to get Age 67 approved, even if they got everything they what they wanted in C2019.

That statement is probably true even if it is put off for another 15 years with a whole new crop of "now old guys". I can't think of a time when the average man didn't desire/want a choice to pursue what is/was best for them/their family. I think you are failing to take human nature into the equation which becomes division politics.
