I've heard that at least a few of our guys did exactly that, making bank at Envoy while cashing the VEOP checks from Delta. Kudos to them for working the system to their maximum advantage.

I smile every time I hear about someone winning like this.

I heard a rumor about a married A330 Delta pilot couple that both took the VEOP and one went to Breeze as a DEC and the other went to UPS I believe.

They must not like spending time together.

Probably why their marriage is so successful...

Someone want to check out P008, SEA, 14 Apr and discern why we’re getting an extra 07:00CR, please? TIA

It's not something I would do in my current situation, but you are talking bad about two people probably close to doubling their income overnight for 3 years. If they had kids and they were out of the house, they could both work weekends and see each other just as much as before but instead of making $500k, they are making close to a million a year. It would actually be foolish NOT to do that.

How are pilots always so hard up for money near the end of their career? Should I be worried?

This isn't about being hard up for money. This is about taking an opportunity to double your income for a few years without any perceptible drop in QOL. Are you saying that's not something you would ever consider?
