AA AIP (no raise for you!)

Being discussed on the AA board, but it appears their AIP won’t give us the “me too” raise. Their highest paying rate will be about $3 an hour below our highest rate. NB will pay slightly more than ours, but that doesn’t trigger the snap up.

Someone on the Widget T/A FB page is trying to make the case their current top rate is $359 due to an MOU signed in 2019. If true, and if that’s used as the baseline for the 21% raise, we may score the me-too raise after all.

Not confirmed yet, but not looking promising for a snap up…. yet. I saw a pic on FB showing $394. Who knows what they’re basing the % off.

The AIP says “~21%”, which leads me to believe it’s similar to our “raise” for different pay banding. Doesn’t sound like it’s uniform across the board pay raises.

Everything I've seen shows their top rate (which is what our snap up is based on) just slightly below ours until the final year it surpasses us, but the snap up doesn't count then.

It looks like their 737/320 rates are slightly above ours.

Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!

Ugh, thanks Obama. United you’re up.

Kinda BS. You guys/gals at Delta did the heavy lifting and we might not even thank you with a snap up. This Delta vs AA stuff is not cool. I heard at least Alaska might see a snap up. I’ve got plenty of friends at both Delta and Alaska. I want to see us all do well and recover some of the huge setbacks we’ve seen in the past.

I think we all want the same thing but I never counted on AA to lift the bar. The AA pilots I know convey a state of affairs over there of sheer misery, and they say the group as a whole will jump to approve even a marginal improvement. As a Delta pilot I’m just rooting for AA not to declare BK and drag the rest of the industry down with it.

Agreed, but until it’s “concrete” I understand the pessimism from most.

Thank you very much for your support. We need more people like you on our side. ;)

It may not raise the bar on the top end of the wide body pay rate, which is what you need for your snap up, but it raises it on narrow body. It raises the bar on holiday pay days. It raises the bar on vacation accrual, it raises the bar on pairing distribution. It raises the bar on a shorter reassignment window.

Go ask your negotiation chair where they found support to bring the A330 and 767-4 into the A350 pay category. I think you might be surprised who raised the bar for you there too.
