New COO

Looks like they’re finally realizing there needs to be a leadership shake up?

I wonder how long JL sticks around in his neutered role.

How is his role neutered? JL will report directly to this new COO. I think the new guy is just filling in for Gil West's departure?

COO with zero airline experience. What could go wrong? I hope he's a a fast learner, but he was a marine, so....

He has amusement park experience. That’s relevant to the operation sometimes.

Winning comment of the day.

Allow me to posit this:

Say you need to form the board for your new airline. The best qualified people happen to be all the talking heads over on chit chat. They have a ton of airline experience, seasoned pilots, some advanced business degrees. All have extensive leadership experience and have commanded and made decisions for large groups.

Technically, they are the best qualified individuals for the job. However, wouldn’t you agree that there is some value to include people on your board who, while not technically the most qualified, bring an outside perspective that may prove useful to leading your new endeavor? Or would you be happy with stacking your team with only “best-qualified” chit chat people.

Parks experience… Brightstar Adventure Parks?

“You can’t make a Tomlette without breaking some Gregg’s” 😉

Great show. That’s probably the best character pair on that show.

100% agree. Some of their scenes are comedic gold

I'm more worried about having a Field Artillery officer in an Aviation leadership position. Having ground pounders in charge of pilots never turned out good for us.

"Those guys can ONLY fly how much?"
"They get how many hours of rest?"

Hopefully he doesn't come in here like a brand new LT with new-idea-fairy energy and try to crank the optimizer from ludicrous speed to plaid
