Yes, but Tropical can never pass up an opportunity to besmirch Boomers and captains. Never let an opportunity to divide the pilot group go to waste and using stereotyping as the cleaver

this has been the exact opposite of my experience, even now as I’m not even close to ”half wing”.

unless of course if I’m on a GS, then I buy.

As a new hire in the last decade I didn’t buy beer or food for that matter my first few years. Class act captains. I remember that now and pay it forward. I think that culture is still very much alive.

Yep, I remember as a new hire doing my purgatory in NYC catching a cab between JFK and LGA. Ended up sharing it with a 777 captain who not only bought the cab but lunch and coffee at the airport. He was so excited to actually be able to buy a new hire something since of course there weren’t any on the 777.

Notable exceptions of course like the dude on a GS to PVR who wouldn’t buy a single Dos Equis for the crew but for the most part it’s been nothing but class. Heck my first OE here I don’t think I bought a single meal.

Only if they stack bags in random order then watch with their hand out for tips as crews climb over them.

Same for the most part, though I’ll never forget one turd making such a big deal about rolling thunder then wanted to split the bill. He’s a well known oddity out west, but otherwise always appreciate the good times.

Also, yes to beards regardless. Time to make a change.
