My reading of the rules is that the seat lock would remain but others I have spoke to think differently. Wanting to get the brain trust view on it.

Not sure. Can say that I have a friend assigned ATL717B in Indoc. Bid SLC73NB at a year and was awarded based on a year of his seat lock completed and 717 not available in SLC. Agree that the language on new hire seat lock is confusing!

Just to be clear, the controlling variable is not if a base has a particular aircraft, it is if a base has a vacancy that could be awarded to the pilot on a particular AE.

If a NYC 73N new hire was trying to get to ATL during their second year, they would be awarded any vacancy in ATL if they were not senior enough to hold ATL 73NB on a bid. However unlikely that would be.

Think of it as a way to get out of a base not an aircraft. If you were based somewhere that had an aircraft but wanted to live somewhere else then if that aircraft didn’t exist in that base then you could bid out at a year.

Bingo. Best example is someone starting in NYC330 last year, probably not able to hold 330 anywhere else, after a year could pretty much go to any other NB in the system (aside from NYC in this case) so long as they can hold it in a given AE.

For any of you that have done training recently, or are in training, when did you get your schedule that shows which days you're training? I got the icrew message that my training starts the second week of Feb going from 320A to 330A. It's one of the short courses.

I know my training window, but the sim schedule posted on Deltanet only goes out to Jan 30th right now and that just changed. Last week it was only showing out to Dec 31st, so I won't be able to use that to look until the end of Jan. Will they email me an actual schedule and also if I'll be going to ATL or MIA and if so, about how far out did you find out?

Thanks for any and all info. I'm considering calling the training planner next week if I don't find something out here.

I had a "would like off" date that came up after I got the 7ERA award, and sim skeds said I should be good but it's not "official" until the 4th of the month prior.

I'm not sure if 4th is the usual date or if it's just so many days in advance and that happens to be the 4th in my case.
