How, exactly, are SLV coded on icrew?

(Asking for a work-aholic friend).

Open time. There is a column labeled "SLV". If it is blank, it is a regular open time trip. If there is an "N", that means the trip is a silver slip trip, but it is not yet biddable because it's in the 48 hour dwell period. If there is a "Y", that means the 48 hours is over, and it is awardable.

Silver trips can only be awarded via a silver slip. They cannot be white slipped unless they are returned to regular open time. Once they hit two days prior, they revert to normal trips and get covered via the coverage ladder.

All covered in the scheduling alert.

Obviously no crystal ball but... curious what everyone thinks about the monthly AE's after we're wrapped up with hiring. More specifically... do we see AE's still happening monthly? And even more specifically.. for us folks stuck on the 717 keeping us across the country, I'm curious about the ability to be able to AE out of this in say, 8-9 months with things slowing.

My prediction is as long as we continue to hire say 600 or more a year then we will have monthly AEs. Even if we aren’t hiring I would think we would have them every two to three months. I say this because it appears the Company likes the predictability of the training throughput and the ability to fine tune manning in each category.

What about something as simple as base trades? If hiring does stop in the future and two people on the same equipment want to swap bases, it would be nice if we had a monthly process for that at least.

I could be wrong but if we are in a steady state of not hiring and not laying off , wouldn’t the Company pretty much leave things alone and not do displacements and possibly start with AEs (not VDs or MDs) and see if people move where they want?
EDIT: There has probably never been a steady state so you are right - either hiring or laying off therefore displacements.
