What matters (to me, a massive WWII history buff) is they put a ton of effort in making it as accurate as they could, and they did amazing work. And that people of today get a glimpse of the absolute hell those men endured.
I’ll also give props to giving screen time to the ground crews and other supporting folks. Not just profiling the aircrew, or even more specifically pilots.

How they could lose up to half a squadron of planes (and the crews) day after day, then get up the next day and go do it again and again and again. Truly incredible men.

My Uncle Bill flew Liberators. He never talked much about it. He never went back into aviation after the war. He became a pretty famous Architect in NYC. Anyway, it wasn't until a few years before he died that he started opening up about the missions. Just amazing stuff.

Strongly agree with your second as well. The bravery of those men is unfathomable. Many people (mistakenly) think June ‘44 was the start of the war in Europe. The Memphis Belle wasn’t the first crew to get 25 missions (just the most famous), but they did it over a year before Normandy.

I remember many years ago standing in line with the wife to see. The Movie Titanic. I happened to mention to her that the scene where the ship sinks was supposed to be fantastic. That brought groans from teenagers behind us and this comment. "Oh man, you just ruined the movie telling us that the ship sinks"!
