Yeah. Nevermind this was a pretty big storm by metro nyc standards. Not in total snowfall but the rate made it hard for plows to keep up even on highways.

8-10 inches at my house in North NJ, the bulk of it fell in 4-5 hours.

Even given that you still almost never hear someone say, "I plan on retiring and moving North"!

When I retire I'm going further north. Likely building my retirement home on family land in the Adirondack Mountains.

I spent too many years stationed in places where it was 90+ and 96% humidity for far too long every year. Plus a couple years living in the middle east.

I can always dress warmer. I can legally only be so naked in public and even thats not enough to stay comfortable.

IAH is going to be a problem through Wednesday most likely. They are getting hammered.

SAT and AUS should be moving quicker as long as we get a little sunlight, sun being the de-ice plan for pretty much all of central/southern TX. There will be a refreeze of what is left tonight but tomorrow noon, it should be near normal for AUS/SAT. 70 degrees on Saturday of course.

Northerners don't live there during huricane season, they rent DEC-MAR. But yup nobody comes north for the summer, thankfully. Summer lake rentals are expensive enough.
