FYI.
These specific model images are coming from a meteorology team here in Arkansas, but you can see the trend as it moves South & East…

After a pretty mundane week storm wise the pattern amplifies into next weekend and beyond. This not only brings a lot of COLD back to the USA, but also allows the POTENTIAL for another southern snow event next week. It could start with a front range BLIZZARD next weekend and evolve from there. It's too early for any confidence in the details, but one of the things that troubles me is not only could we get more snow and ice, but this time it could be followed by more Arctic air which is crippling for southern states and really all involved if it happens. Lets see how it plays out, but some food for thought getting into the 18th and beyond.

Warnings of “Double blast” of arctic air bookending next week from Ryan Maue of ATL:

All of a sudden, Mother Nature figured out how to run a proper winter across the United States.
By next Monday, a major Arctic blast will descend the Rockies into Texas.
Temperatures 45°F below normal in Denver put actual lows close to -30°F
I'd expect this to moderate as we approach next weekend.
Unfortunately, this is a "double load" of Arctic air, as another massive chunk of cold air could wipe out the rest of Lower 48 east of the Rockies into weekend of Jan 25-26th.
Hopefully someone will turn a dial or push a button to keep this on the other side of the North Pole.

Highly unlikely, almost laughable, but there are at least two models showing the potential for double digit snowfall in ATL.
