*almost all….

flew one a couple weeks ago with no rubber band. Needless to say a rubber band is now part of my pro gear.

It's not about the money, I own 4 sets of aviation headsets, including a set of Bose A20s, but they stay with the plane. Now that we're starting to get hot mic capability, I can see the utility in getting a set. I just want something that is super compact and packs nicely. I'd consider the Clarity Aloft Flex set, they look like they may fit the bill. If anyone has experience, I'd love to hear it.
It has nothing to do with cleanliness, they are uncomfortable, block no noise, the mic sucks, and you can't hear voice through them very well.

It barely takes any room too. That Bose case is too bulky in my opinion.
You keep an emergency pair of underwear in your flight bag?

Started the habit of carrying one set of underwear, white undershirt and socks in my cockpit bag when I did a lot of lean overs at Sky West. Also kept a tiny toiletry bag with paste, brush and deodorant so I could get by without bringing my roller bag. When I got here I ditched the toiletry bag since I never leave home without my roller bag but I kept the clothes on there.

I always pack for trip +1 so this is more like trip +1 + 1 in the chamber.

I don't know, more superstition than anything at this point.

Fair enough. I started bringing my roller bag even on day turns because I don't like carrying around my flight bag.

DC Pro-X worked pretty well in the 717, was still very comfortable with one ear off.

This is actually one of the reasons I don't really care to lug around a headset. I use a small rollaboard (can be a backpack as well) that is my luggage and flight kit. I pretty much only do 1 and 2 days, so it's perfect for that, but 3 days are a stretch. So unless it's a super compact headset, I don't have much room thanks to my trip length +1 packing lol.

I use a Clarity Aloft in 1 ear. I've always preferred in-ear vs over-ear and detest on-ear like the ship sets use.

Just had a string of CA's who rawdog it on the ship set... It's a total head scratcher.

When asked why, the answer was always "I'm too cheap to get my own!." Apparently ++$400k a year isn't enough to afford a $1000 headset to save your hearing in the golden years, and instead you crank the INT to max and still say "WHAT???" everytime I say something...
