Not surprising since they’ve already stated the 717 MSP flying will be drawn down soon. Those are most of the longest stage lengths on the fleet so perfect for the 220 to take over.

They sold it as a surprise base announcement. I'm not sure it was a surprise but happy to see it. That was #2 on my list. #1 was 320 BOS as soon as the paid move expires.

That's my bet as well. When I saw BOS announced as a 330 base, I basically figured they'd do exactly that. Small WB only base, for a year or so until the paid move runs out. They probably bet (and were likely right) that the majority of the BOS 330 people would be people who live in the area already.

Have the MSP220 IA calls started yet?

We don't do IA calls anymore, just make the deal and find the affected pilot for 23M7... done.

FWIW, BOS paid move window has officially expired, as of yesterday. 1 Jan 25 was the first conversion. 6.A.3 says: "converts into a position at a new or re-established base within 12 months of the first pilot conversion at such".

It's still my #1 guess for the next one and was my #1 guess even before the BOS330. See how wrong I can be. That should provide comfort for some.

The beginning of the end, DTW717 RIP.

This matches what I've heard from reliable sources. Expect an announcement about the DTW717 base closing sometime in Q3 next year, followed by all the flights transferring to ATL. Apparently, they will operate in ATL until 28 and then gradually phase out, being gone by 30.
