We didn’t make a record profit in our 100th, err, 96th, time to jump ship! Some probably need to be held accountable for the mess they created last year with their stupid celebration. Another year UA closes the gap and beats us sometimes, and no one cares.

My take is that there is a purge and with the board turnover as well this leaves ED as the only legacy voice. I don't think the institutional knowledge of the bankruptcy leaving is a good thing. The new bosses have no idea where we have come from and are susceptible to similar or the same mistakes. There is a generational shift occurring at Delta in every department. I don't think it's nefarious but I do think it's potentially dangerous if we act as we did because there is a lack of experience. The telltale sign is a focus on short term gains and goals like last year over the adaptation to the current and future marketplace. The future of the corporation will be determined by the RGs, JLs etc. and I am not confident in their past decisions which gives me pause for the future. Honestly I only need a few more years of adequate performance but I do hope for the younger generation at Delta that there is a strategic view with 10+ year plans and contingency plans. When Leo Mullin was elevated to CEO he was touted as the next visionary and that turned out to be a flop so being able to identify those flaws and failures going forward will be key whoever finds their way into leadership. As a cog in flight operations I see some areas that are being ignored that have the potential to be damaging to the core of the air line business. This assumes we will continue to be an operator and not just a holding company.
