[mod input] Ok, folks…. One last warning to keep the thread on topic, and stay away from partisan bait/commentary. Otherwise, the thread will be closed, and the offenders will get some time off. Don’t say you weren’t warned. Enough.

In our last meetings with Iran we offered to provide them with nuclear fuel for power generation if they would abandon and dismantle their program. They turned down the offer

So what was the real purpose behind the Iranian nuclear program? Hmmmmmm 🤔

If McDonald's showed up and said "we will provide you with all the food you'd need but you're not allowed to cook your own," what might you say?

Here is an article about the negotiations:

Yes, I know this is a left-leaning think tank

Highly skeptical of HKs claim.
It would require a source other than the word of the administration.

Thank you for the link by the way.
Pretty depressing, but I suspect it would be dismissed as fake news.

The link I posted addresses exactly this. The US did throw out to provide free nuclear fuel for Iran. However, can you blame them for balking at it considering the US's and, specifically the Administration's propensity to renege on deals? Additionally, the article states that a nuclear agreement would also be subject to Congressional approval, which, see TSA funding.

Lots of defending the Iranian regime & their actions in this thread.

What a bizarro world we live in.
