Default 320 Study Guide

Any recommendations for a A320 Delta Study guild beyond the company issued info? Also, has anybody had any luck setting up a particular home computer sim to practice profiles, etc? TIA!

You'll be good to go with the material Delta provides. I wouldn't bother with Flight Sim. The amount of practice you'll get in the 200 series is plenty. If you want more than that, you can sit in the FTD's to practice flows which is better bang for your time buck than a home sim. There are also well made videos for all the profiles.

Trust the process and welcome!

Study what they tell you when they tell you. Don't go off making bad habits on your own.

the bus is incredibly easy and you’ll only form improper habits or mix up procedures if you attempt to learn via 3rd party.

The Delta provided materials (Student Guide, Vol 1, FCTM, FCOM, etc.) plus the A320 Fleet page on DeltaNet are all you need. Try not to go off-roading with gouge or non-Delta materials.

Our training center and curriculum is excellent. Welcome to the Bus!

If you are coming from Ejet/A220…. Debatable. It’s all perspective.

I'll also add that the program is one of the best 'vetted' programs in our system. The ESV questions are all valid and discriminating. There are a lot less 'training-isms' and the flow of material is logical and reasonable.

Being one of the 'NH aircraft', historically in almost every base, and a fairly junior upgrade opportunity, this program has had lots and lots of eyes looking through it. It's been 'proof read' by all levels of DL pilots.

It's proven. I agree that there is no need for outside 'gouge'.

There are multiple ways (techniques) to fly the A320. You are learning to fly the A320 AT DELTA. Use Delta training materials and you will be fine.

Your attitude is admirable. If this is your first airline, I understand how one might feel thats necesary but...........

In case you haven't already figured it out. YEAH: DO NOT DO THAT!

You'll laugh at/with your self in a years time or less.

Study what Delta gives to you. Spend a lot of time in front of the paper tiger. Use eyemasks when chair flying. You'll be surprised at how good you are after the course.

I came from the 737 to the 320 and found it incredibly intuitive after the initial introduction. I went from the 320 to the 220 and we all know the cannabus is no airbus. With all the FB’s and a plenty of choices to do one thing multiple different ways it took more time to get used to then the 320. Don’t get me wrong the 220 is great and flies significantly nicer than the 320 manually. The trickiest thing about the 320 is probably the box, ECAM song and dance, and flysmart.
