I’m ready to fly my arse off this summer to clean up the mess they’ve made of Richard Anderson’s Delta Air Lines. Let’s get a mutually agreeable deal out for memrat and get back to the business of printing money.

Hard no for me.

There is a short window to edit/correct a post, after which the ‘edit’ button disappears. I fixed it above for you.

Post what you want, want what you post.

Not reading 23 pages of this.

But the staffing issues are self inflicted wounds from our absolute terrible technology in crew scheduling paired with the fact that we did not hire anyone in 2025.

Full Stop.

Example 1: RSV pilots aren’t even on RSV. Why would you be when you can fly on your days off, and fill your reserve days with PB days? For extra money.

Example 2: The optimizer has created rotations with zero margin for error, zero rest, tons of sitting around, and max duty days. The result? Reroutes, an increased use of sick time and fatigue calls. Fact. The trips as published in a bid pack are terrible on narrowbody fleets. If you do show up and fly one, you’re scheduled to PWA max duty day. You’re one delay away from being asked to extend. Many are not fit to do so.

Example 3: When your day is a max duty day LGA-MCO-MSP-ORD. And you get to MCO and can’t park for 45 mins because of a thunderstorm. You already know you’re not going to ORD at the end of the day. The company figures this out about 7-8 hours later. Seeing example 1 where there are no reserves available, and nobody to reroute because of example 2. The result is cancellations.

This is a company problem. Not a pilot problem.

RG has created this nightmare. We are just living in it. If they didn’t try to squeeze every last penny out of us, it’d end up saving them money and increasing efficiencies.

We changed service standards under the guise of fuel prices. We pulled down some summer flying under the guise of fuel prices. This “event” has given D a hall pass. Eventually, we aren’t gonna get a hall pass and United is gonna take our lunch money.

C2026: SCHEDULE WITH TEGRIDY.

No, no, no, it's the racketeering. And the sick leave abuse.

- RG, probably

Nope. Provide all necessary contractual improvements at the time of the auto-accept exchange, or it’s a hard no. “IOU notes” for more improvements after a couple years are not a valid currency with this management team.

Richard Anderson’s Delta is not coming back under the current clowns in management, with or without a deal. They have all of the tools they need to make the operation run more efficiently under our present contract. They simply don’t know how to manage their resources effectively, and don’t want to continue to pay for the cost of coverage under our current contract.

Personally, I think RG and HT are doing great jobs. The schedulers are so bad I routinely get out of res trips I'm assigned because they made one mistake or another, and that's on the rare occasion I have any res days left after rolling thunder so successfully due to both of their work. Keep it up!

1. Reserves not utilized properly
2. 5-10% maybe more not flying because they get full 23m7
3. Optimizer leaves no room for error
4. TLV maxxed so line holders already at limits
5. PB days not worth it anymore so extra reserves won’t fly
6. Didn’t hire for 9 months of attrition and increase flying.
7. Send sick letters out in bad faith.
8. Increase batch sizes and have out of date scheduling software and shrink CS and CT so they don’t pick up phones

This summer is going to be hot…..

Anything short of something massively impressive from the MEC and company and “hot” will probably not be a proper description for the next 4 months.

Unless there is no fuel for the fire and we can’t internationally

unpopular solution. Fully staff airport standby everyday.

They have no way of tracking who's on airport standby. That's why that provision isn't used.

To add to this, the aggressive manner in which the CPO has been cracking down on commuters has dissuaded me from picking up trips lately too. Getting a call for a GS/QS, knowing I can easily make the trip with 2 flights, but them not being 2 hours apart (second flight not DL) makes me decline the trip because I KNOW that I will absolutely receive a call from the CPO admonishing me if something happened and I didn't make the trip/was late.

Not totally the CPOs fault, but easily something we can change in the contract to incentivize commuters to pick up trips.
